Tributes Pour As Gov Rotimi Akeredolu Succumbs To Death At 67

Hundreds of people across the globe  have continued to mourn the shocking demise of the Ondo State Governor,  Rotimi Akeredolu better known as Aketi.


Newsmen gathered that, Akeredolu died in Lagos on Wednesday, December 27 2023.

It was learnt that he was managed by State House doctors up to his death because they could not fly him abroad.

“Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,” a reliable source told newsmen.

“They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.”

Recall that the ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany.

Recently, he proceeded on another medical leave after he was directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

His deputy, Aiyedatiwa has been standing in as Acting Governor.

Following the announcement of his death, Netizens have continued to pay their last respects to Aketi.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is dead.

According to reports, Akeredolu died in Lagos on Wednesday.

Alaafin's Son, Abdulfatai dies at 47

The son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, fondly called D-Gov, is dead.
He died in the early hours of Friday, a day before his 47th birthday.

He reportedly died of diabetes at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State.

 The Oyo prince, who was said to have been ill for a while, aspired for the Oyo Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019 but lost the election to his brother, Akeem Adeyemi, fondly called Skimeh, who was re-elected for the second term.

He was appointed by the state governor, Seyi Makinde, as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pension Board in his first term.

I'm Not Chasing More Success- Fireboy

 Nigerian Afrobeats singer Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has revealed why he’s not chasing more success.

According to him, 2023 has taught him to enjoy his wealth and appreciate “God’s blessings” instead of chasing more success.

Speaking in a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, the 27-year-old singer claimed that 2023 has been a “relatively slow year” for him musically, which made him see life from a different perspective.

The “Peru” crooner said, “This year, more than ever, has taught me to take a break, relax and appreciate God’s blessings instead of chasing more and more success.

This year, being like a relatively slow year for me (musically), kind of like put things in perspective like, ‘Okay, maybe, it’s time to get off that high and relax; take a deep breath.

“There’s family. Enjoy the wealth you’ve gathered. Appreciate the things around you and stop chasing success.


“This year I’m relaxing. I’m always at home, I’m recording in the studio. On Sundays, I play football. And once in a while, when I miss the attention of the ladies, I hangout with them.”

Being A Nigerian Is Tough- Tems

Grammy-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has said being a Nigerian is “tough.”
Speaking in a recent interview with Kiss FM, London, United Kingdom, Tems said, “Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. But I think if you can tap into your gifts and own who you are and be unapologetic about it, and take that to the world, that is an honour.

She, however, said despite the hardship of being a Nigerian, there is a blessing attached to it if one utilizes their talent and takes it to where it would be appreciated.

She described being a Nigerian woman as “a miracle.”


Speaking in a recent interview with Kiss FM, London, United Kingdom, the Oscar-nominated diva said, “Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. But I think if you can tap into your gifts and own who you are and be unapologetic about it, and take that to the world, that is an honour.

“I think Nigerian women are the most blessed. I won’t say the most blessed but everybody is blessed in equal manner but Nigerian women are very special to me. They are very dear to me and I believe that it is such a huge blessing to be a Nigerian woman and to be living in this time

Osimhen wins AIC Footballer of the Year award

 Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, was named as the Italian Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year for his stellar showing with Neopolitans last season.

The award ceremony held on Monday night,  also had other accolades, including the team of the year, coach of the year, club of the year, and goal of the season.

Osimhen’s 26 goals were instrumental in helping the Partenopei win their first Scudde in 33 years.

 This feat has also seen the Nigerian nominated for many awards, including the FIFA Best and Balon d’Or.

He was also included in the Serie team of the year alongside Mike Maignan, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Kim Min-jae, Andrea Bastoni, Theo Hernández, Stanislav Lobotka, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Nicolo Barella, Rafael Leão, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Despite a tougher start to the 2023-24 campaign and recent struggles with injury, Osimhen has continued his impressive goals-per-game ratio, with six from 10 after the 14 games.

The 25-year-old Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Napoli and the Nigeria national team is considered one of the best strikers in the world, as well as one of the best players in the world, he is known for his elite finishing, pace, strength and athleticism.
