Fraudsters Scammed Shop Owner While Buying N110k Phone

 A shop owner has cried out for help after being swindled by two guys at the popular Emab plaza in Wuse 2 area of Abuja.

According to reports, the suspected fraudsters disguised as customers, came to the man’s shop to buy a Tecno phantom 8 of N110,000 and pretended that the cash was in their car so somebody should follow them to collect it.

After the man followed them and counted the money (which was in N1000 notes), he gave them the phone.

The ‘customers’ reportedly didn’t bother with the receipt saying it wasn’t necessary only for the man to return to the store to discover the bundle of 1000 naira notes has “changed” to 100 naira notes.

The money had only two pieces of N1000 which were used to conceal the torn 100 naira notes..

This left the shop owner very shocked as to how the scammers did it.

It has been alleged that the guys might have swapped the real money with “fake ones” after the man had counted it.

FROM AN EYEWITNESS: This incident happened in EMAB PLAZA Wuse 2 Abuja. Two agents came to buy a tecno phantom 8 of N110,000 they pretended that the cash was in their car so somebody should follow them to collect it. After the guy counted the money (1k notes) he gave them the phone and they didn’t bother with the receipt saying it wasn’t necessary only for the guy to return to the store to discover the money has changed to this.

The governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ogun State, Oluseyi Gavriel Olufade, has disclosed that his mission is to "rescue, restore and reposition" the State.

Olufade, speaking with newsmen at the weekend during a chat in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital said "our theme is to bring out the glory in Ogun-State".

According to him "I am Changing the narrative, the options in the politics and polity.To let people know that there are actually true and genuine people out there to change their lifes for good and the State economy system. In achieving this I settled for the party that best suit the ideology, Alliance for Democracy which has a pure ideology".

Olufade said, "when I settled for this party, I travelled round eighteen out of the twenty local governments in Ogun State what eighty-percent of the residents remember is what Alliance for Democracy past leaders did, more reason 2019 politics will be very unusual"

He further said, "there are five pillars in our blue print
1.Sustainable human capital development
2 Public service accountability and good governance.
3 Security law and order
4. Infrastructure for economic growth and prosperity. (Road, transportation,  water, electricity and the light).
5.Land environment and natural resources (reformation of land, Urban planning)".

He added that "Our gross development product is provided by industry, services and agriculture. I want this State to be the service centre, silicon centre and New Jersey of New York.We can position ourself as a knowledge city, a media city, agricultural city which has to be strategically looked into."As a business man and entrepreneur I believe you put more money where you generate funds"

Also, "we have fourty seven quick wins we will do quickly, this is what we want to do between the first three hundred and sixty -five days come May 2019".

Olufade, The-Yewa-Awori candidate and information technology expert said, "our three key words are simple courageous and innovative. I have gotten here by innovation and taking courageous steps, by believing in God, having faith that there is nothing God can not do, as the creator of heaven and earth", he added.

25-year-old Driver, docked for allegedly forging employer's bank signature

A 25-year-old driver, Suleiman Abubakar, today pleaded guilty before an
Ikeja Magistrates’ Court to have impersonated and forged his employer’s bank
signature.
Following his guilty plea, Magistrate Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi ordered that the
accused should be kept behind bars pending his sentence.
The magistrate then fixed Jan. 22 for the sentence of the accused.
Abubakar, who resides in Kara near Isheri, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-
count charge of forgery and impersonation.
The prosecutor, Insp. Akeem Raji, had earlier told the court that Abubakar
impersonated and forged the signature of one Samaila Rabiu, with an intent to
transfer the complainant’s money into his personal account.
Raji told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 3 at 9.00
a.m., at the Ojodu branch of First Bank of Nigeria, in Lagos.
Raji said that the accused had gone to the Ojodu branch of the bank where he
attempted to forge the complainant’s signature with his account number.
The prosecutor said that this was to unlawfully transfer money from the
complainant’s account into his own account.
“The accused was caught by some of the bank’s officials while he was
perpetrating the illegal action,” he said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 370 and 380 of the
Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
Both sections prescribed a seven-year jail term for offenders.

Woman Drinks Snipper in Lagos Over Quarell With Husband

A Nigerin woman might likely lose her life after allegedly gulping a bottle of popular insecticide, Sniper, this morning, in Ogudu, Lagos State.

The woman who is currently battling for her life reportedly took the dramatic action after a misunderstanding with her husband, coupled with their landlord’s decision to give them a quit notice.

It was gathered that their fight always stems from the fact that the husband, who is poor, is constantly cheating on her. The man was also accused of preventing the wife from interacting with people on their street.

She decided to commit suicide, today, by drinking Sniper. However, she was rescued and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in a wheelbarrow.

Father celebrates A-year- old triplets welcomed six years of infertility

Taiye Feyisayo Adedeji and her husband welcomed their triplets after six years of marriage.

She took to Instagram to share adorable photos of the triplets, two boys and a girl, on their first birthday.

The pictures were accompanied by captions that mirrored their excitement at the blessings they have so freely received. One of the words written by the wife showed that the couple had actually been battling with infertility before the miracle happened.

“When the Lord turned around the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Finally, we have a family portrait.” She captioned

"We will Build Nuclear Missiles if US Does Same"- Russian President

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country would start developing
intermediate - range nuclear missiles if the United States leaves a key arms
agreement and begins developing the weapons as well .

Putin told Russian news agencies that a U . S. withdrawal from the treaty would mean Washington has concluded it “ has to have these weapons” and that Moscow “ will do the same. ”
U . S . Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told NATO ministers in Brussels today
it will begin the six -month process of withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range
Nuclear Forces Treaty in 60 days if Moscow does not regain compliance with
the treaty .
Pompeo accused Russia of deploying “ multiple battalions of the SSC - 8
missiles, ” a land- based, intermediate -range Cruise missile capable of carrying
nuclear warheads . Moscow has denied deploying such weapon systems .
“ It makes no sense for the United States to remain in a treaty that constrains
our ability to respond to Russia ’s violations. Russia has reversed the trajectory
of diminishing nuclear risk in Europe , ” Pompeo told reporters in Brussels .
The 1987 INF treaty , negotiated by then- U . S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, eliminated all nuclear missiles with a range
between 500 and 5, 500 kilometers, reducing the ability to launch a nuclear strike at short notice.

STRIKE CONTINUES AS MEETING WITH FG ENDS IN DEADLOCK-ASUU

 The lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU will continue as the meeting between the leadership of the academic union and the Federal government ended in a deadlock yesterday.

 The meeting which held at the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu’s office, failed to see both parties reach an agreement.

The Union began their strike action on November 5th to demand better funding for universities and alleged plans by the Federal government to increase student fees.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, ASUU president Biodun Ogunyemi, said

”We have been meeting but we are yet to reach any concrete decision”.
