The preparation and canvassing for votes by candidates ahead of 2019 general election has taken a new dimension as the Gubernatorial candidate of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Olufade Oloowokere took his campaign to the students' community in Ogun State.

The Students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) led by the Student Union President, Comr. Afolabi Olamide had a robust discussion with  OGO on matters affecting the students and youths in the State, the students showed their readiness to throw the weight of their supports behind any candidate that has the blueprint to protect the interest and welfare of the students.

According to Afolabi Olamide, the SUG President while responding to Olufade Oloowokere about the readiness of the students, he said "we have over 33,000 students in our institution, about 75% of them are adults above 18, as at now, over 10,000 of the students have gotten their Permanent Voters Cards, this is because as student leaders, we took our time to educate our students in Ijebu-Ode and Ago-Iwoye, we are ready to mobilize them for any candidate that is youths and students friendly".

The SUG President further complained bitterly about how the students are sitting at home for the past two months  because ASUU and SSANU have refused to resume academics and Government is not pragmatic neither proactive about it.

He said further, "some of us are trusted by our fellows in campus and we are not ready to betray their trust, we shall mobilize and confront any form of oppression against Nigerian students, one of the way to do this is to vote the right candidate in the next election".

While responding to the students' leaders,  OGO expressed his sincere willingness to help alleviate the agony of Nigerian students, he confidently told them that he is a candidate to be trusted, according to him, "Among all the candidates, I represent a generation that is closest to the younger generation, I know their pains and feelings, demanding for better education and infrastructure is not too much, if elected, I will make sure that our students get the best of all they needed", he added.
