Making the announcement yesterday, in Johannesburg, Vice President and Managing Director, Citizen ID with HID Global Jessica Westerouen said, “HID Global addresses each step of the citizen identity journey and everything government agencies in Africa and other emerging markets will deploy complete solutions for issuing driver’s licenses, social security cards, passports and other national ID documents."

Jessica highlighted the constitutes of the initiative as HID Mobile Biometric Solutions: This  Enables disenfranchised citizens to be enrolled into government identity programs regardless of their location. The solutions bring empowerment, freedom and connectivity to those who need it most, while
creating new capabilities including “passport-free” border crossings and fraud- resistant pension programs.

governments for existing and planned national ID, resident ID, driver’s license,
