6Tips to Keep Your love life happy

NO matter your relationship status, romantic goals, or feelings about dating in general, fact remains that 2018 offered a lot of information to consider about that good, old battlefield of love. During the summer, for instance, many of our celebrity friends made the case for just doing the damn thing. And when the sprint to matrimony didn’t pan out for some, they taught us to find the empowering silver lining.
Aside from star-powered relationship advice, expert-backed tips to increase happiness and health also came to light this year. Of the bunch, my personal favorites include the health reasons to never hold in your poop around your significant other (let nature take it’s course, people!); some real talk about what to do if you just can’t sleep around your snoring special someone (because, seriously, I’ve wondered how many divorces citing irreconcilable differences are just thinly veiling a deviated septum issue); and sex-free ways to build intimacy with your partner (because who’s always in the mood?). But those are just three of a whole corpus of stellar dating and relationship tips from 2018. Rounded up below are the takeaways that stuck with Well+Good staffers that you can bring into 2019 and beyond.
DON’T EXPECT PERFECTION
“It was a big year for me and my boyfriend: We moved into our first apartment together and learned a lot about each other. Nothing ended up being a deal-breaker (phew!) but the shakeup that comes with sharing so much more space and time did sometimes prove challenging. So when I stumbled upon Kristen Bell’s six love tips, I appreciated how relatable and helpful they were—especially number four: Love everything about them, including faults. This resonated with me in so many ways—even when it comes to lighthearted faults (like leaving the sink running way longer than he needs to while brushing his teeth)!”—Celine Cortes, audience development associate.

HELLO, HYGGE SEX
“This year I learned about karezza, which is pretty much sex that focuses more on the pleasures of sex and not the orgasm. I’ve been preaching this gospel for years—I just didn’t have the word for it! Karezza is about building intimacy by experiencing the sensations of sex instead of racing toward an orgasm. That’s a 2019 resolution if I ever heard one.” —Maria Del Russo, contributor
LONELINESS DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE BASED ON RELATIONSHIP STATUS
“When you’re single but want to be in a relationship, it’s easy to think that once you find that ideal partner, you’ll be living your happiest life ever. But I learned that being in a relationship isn’t a cure for loneliness—in fact, many feel lonely in their relationships. Furthermore, if you still feel lonely despite having the most wonderful partner ever, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong with your relationship.” —Emily Laurence, senior writer.

PEOPLE DO OFTEN MEAN WHAT THEY SAY
“There’s a famous Maya Angelou quote that goes, ‘When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.’ That’s the best relationship advice I’ve received because of how I apply it to dating: Basically, when someone tells you they don’t want anything serious, or to DTR, or to be in a relationship—believe them.” —Gabrielle Kassel, contributor
EXIT PLANS ARE BASICALLY SELF CARE
“The key to any successful relationship—be it romantic, friendly, or familial—so often comes down to just showing up. Sometimes, in order to keep your bond strong, even the best-laid JOMO plans need to be pushed aside when someone you care for calls. But that doesn’t mean you need to hang out with them interminably. Well+Good assistant style editor Tamim Alnuweiri (unwittingly, I think) reminded me of the importance of a good exit strategy with her piece rounding up seven real excuses she’s used to get out of bad dates. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to tell my husband “I’m allergic to the sun” the next time I don’t love his choice for an afternoon activity, but I’m certainly into the idea of having exit strategy—an errand that needs to be run, a dog that needs to be walked—at the ready whenever I’m on a friend date with someone who’s lacking in the boundaries department.” —Abbey Stone, managing editor
NICE PEOPLE DO EXIST
“This year, I’ve learned to stop doubting the nice guy. When I started dating someone new, I caught myself continuously looking for a catch when there really wasn’t one at all. If you find yourself not believing that you deserve a truly nice significant other, remember that just because you’ve been hurt in the past doesn’t mean you’ll get hurt again. And you don’t have to prevent yourself from loving just to avoid pain. You could be really missing out.” —Rachel Lapidos, associate beauty and fitness editor.

ESP: Manchester City Defeat Unbeatable Liverpool-2-1

Manchester City have handed the first league defeat
of the season to Liverpool as they piped the Reds
2-1 in a keenly contested game today at the
Etihad Stadium.
The victory recorded by Pep Guardiola’s men has
also helped them close the gap at the top of the
table to just four points.

The top-of-the-table showdown was played at a
frantic pace from start to finish as champions City
faced the prospect of falling as much as 10 points
adrift of the previously unbeaten league leaders.
Indeed, Liverpool were looking invincible having
won their last nine top-flight outings heading into
today's match.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men were demystified
when Sergio Aguero shot City in front shortly
before halftime.

Liverpool fought back and levelled things up
through Roberto Firmino and would have been
much happier with a draw than their hosts.
However, Leroy Sane produced a pinpoint finish
with less than 20 minutes remaining to hand City a
crucial three points in the title race as they moved
back into second place above Tottenham Hotspur.

Cutting pubic hair, using soap in vagina kill sexual pleasure —Expert

Contrary to what women practise, a gynaecologist at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Imran Morhason-Bello has said simple things like cutting of pubic hair, use of deodorant and insertion of materials into the vagina over time can kill s3xual pleasure.

Dr Morhason-Bello, gave this advice as part of a lecture at an advocacy meeting on the need to curb ‘medicalisation’ of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Nigeria.
The meeting, organised by the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA) and University of Ibadan Centre for Population and Reproductive Health, was held in Abuja.
The gynaecologist stated that FGM is not the only practice that causes havoc to women’s private parts and their s3xual lives but also actions of women in the bid to clean up their private parts or boost their libido.
He said when materials used for cleaning up has corrosive effects, this overtime causes scarring of the private part, thereby making it less sensitive.
According to him, “the skin in the clitoris and labia minoria is very thin and heavily flooded with blood (vascularised). When you disrupt it, the area will heal by secondary intention. When it does so there is scarring, making the nerves less sensitive and their s3xual drive will be lost.”
Dr Morhason-Bello explained that women need to avoid inserting non-prescribed medication, herbal preparations, perfumes, and deodorants in their vagina as this can lead to infection.
”In fact, some of them use their hand to insert these materials into the vagina and over time, this could cause narrowing of their vagina. We have cases of total closure of the vagina occurring due to acts like this.
“Correcting this will require multiple complex surgeries either to break it down or to reconstruct a new vagina. So the woman may be in the hospital for months.
“So, the surest material for a lady to clean up is clean water. When you use anything that has antiseptic effects it destroys the normal organisms that nature has created to keep that place fine. New organisms that will now destroy that place will set in; such women may then end up having recurrent vagina discharges,” he declared.

He advised that women should wash their vagina with water and “not mind the odour from the private parts because the odour is characteristic of the vagina”.
He also condemned shaving or cutting of the pubic hair, adding that sometimes this causes repeated micro bruises.
“In fact, sometimes when you examine the vulva of some women, because of multiple scars from shaving with a blade, that area is already disrupted and this can affect their s3xual sensation later in life,” he added.
Dr Morhason-Bello also warned women against the use of aphrodisiac, adding that no drug is without side effects.
According to him, “some of the aphrodisiacs are topically applied around the vagina, causing similar effects like other chemical materials.
‘‘Many people that engage in drug-enhancing s3xual performance do not practise normal s3xual activity. They engage in what is called dry s3x or rough s3x. So these drugs make them prone to repeated injury. These injuries silently will continue to cause gradual scarring.”
The expert urged women that want tighter vagina to seek the help of a urogyneacologist rather than resorting to inserting substances into their genitals.
“The urogyneacologist can help reconstruct it and make it as it was before and they will go home the same day. But the only thing is that nothing must enter the place for six weeks to three months,” he concluded.

Air Force helicopter crashes in Boko Haram combat

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter crashed in combat yesterday night
while providing close air support to troops of 145 Battalion at Damasak in
Northern Borno State.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, Director of Public Relations and Information disclosed this, but he did not disclose the model of the helicopter or how many personnel were inside it at the time the crash happened. Nigerian Air Force has over a dozen of Russian made helicopters, MMil Mi-17 and Mil Mi-24 models.

Daramola said the aircraft was involved in the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North East.
“The incident, occurred about 7:45 pm today, 2 January 2019. Details of the
cause of the crash are still scanty”, he said.
“As soon as the details of the crash are known, they will be made available to
the public”, Daramola added. The loss happened hours after Daramola informed newsmen that The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE destroyed a building being used as meeting venue by Boko Haram fighters near Baga in Northern Borno State.
“The attack”, he said, “was conducted 1 Jan 2019, after series of Intelligence,
Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed that the building
was being used as an assembly point by the terrorists. Consequently, the ATF
dispatched a NAF Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the building."
“A direct hit was recorded on the target leading to significant damage to the
structure and neutralisation of the occupants”, he added.

20 years-old Pulisic Joins Chelsea In £57.6m Move From Borussia Dortmund

Christian Pulisic has joined Chelsea in a £57.6m move from Borussia Dortmund
but will be immediately loaned back to the German club for the remainder of
the 2018-19 season.

The 20-year-old United States international becomes the second most
expensive outfield player in Chelsea’s history, after Alvaro Morata.
“In summer of 2019, I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the
English Premier League,” said Pulisic, who has scored 15 goals in 114 games
for Dortmund since breaking into the first team during the 2015/16 season.

“It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to
working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world class players.
“[I’m] looking forward to working with Maurizio Sarri and his technical team.
But for six months, it’s all BVB!

“Please do not doubt my passion, determination and my 110 per cent
commitment to the team right until the last ball is kicked this season.”
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc says the Bundesliga leaders attempted
to persuade Pulisic to sign a contract extension at the Westfalenstadion, with
his previous deal due to expire in 2020.

“It was always Christian’s big dream to play in the Premier League,” said Zorc.
“It certainly has to do with his American background and as a consequence, we
were unable to extend his contract.

“Given that his contract runs out soon, we have now decided to accept the
extremely lucrative offer from Chelsea.”

He added: “Christian Pulisic is a characteristically flawless player.
“I am certain that he will do his all in the coming months to bring his quality
into the team in order to reach Borussia Dortmund’s goals with his team-
mates.”

A number of English clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal, were previously
linked with Pulisic, who has found his first-team opportunities limited this
season by the emergence of England international Jadon Sancho.

The American becomes the fourth major signing of Maurizio Sarri’s spell at
Chelsea, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Jorginho also arriving for significant fees,
and Mateo Kovacic joining on loan from Real Madrid.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: “We are delighted to have signed
one of Europe’s most sought-after young players.

“Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just
20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for
many years to come.

“We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish
him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”
